The Villa Marie Basketball team will soon have new uniforms and a new outside basketball court thanks to their Coach Matt Jilek and a community of people who care.

Years of asphalt fixes have been replaced with a beautiful, smooth and level cement surface.  Thanks to an anonymous donor who heard about the need and agreed to provide the service.

The school was able to purchase new athletic uniforms, which will not only be worn for Special Olympics basketball, but able to be used for bowling and track competitions as well as for group outings and field trips.  The school was able to go with a sleeved reversible jersey and reversible shorts in royal blue and white, a change from what has been worn for the last 15-20 years.  After an article in the Southern Nebraska Register listed the new uniforms as a wish of the school, generous donors sent in the funding to make it possible.  The Villa Marie Eagles basketball team will defend their State Basketball Championship Title, and three students will challenge in individual skills on April 7th while wearing their sharp new uniforms.
